Too Many Answers

There is, in the Old Testament, a story of three oracle stones. One stone signified "yes," one signified "no," and the last signified that no answer would be given. The stones were put in a receptacle and when a question was asked of the priest, he would draw out one of the stones.

Life was less complicated then. Three stones, two answers, one equivocation. Not anymore. Now we require a mort of stones even for the simplest of questions.
